Hello everyone. At the November meeting we voted on a Christmas family. They live in Spanaway and have 5 children. (3 were an emergency family adoption this summer) (see me for more details) What they really need is Winter coats and boots for the 3 little ones Ages: Boy age 2 Wears size 3T clothes and size 8 shoe/boots Girl age 3 Wears size 4T clothes and size 8 shoe/boots Boy age 5 Wear size 5T (or boys size small) and size 10 shoe/boots. The boys loveanythingto do with cars. The little girl loves anything pink and/or girly. The 2 older children (Boy 18 and Girl 16) say they don't want anything. Mom says maybe an iTunes gift card? The parents are worried about having enough money to buy food and would prefer a gift card to a grocery store. Preferrably Winco. We will discuss/vote on a dollar amount at the December Business meeting. We will also plan the shopping and Santa/Elves/Helpers delivery time. ~~~~~~~~~~ We contacted Phoenix House in October and they were already adopted this year. So they are not in need of Holiday Help. They did express a need for "Cleaning Buckets". We spent $110 on the buckets and cleaning supplies and provided them with 10 new "cleaning buckets" for future families they help find homes. Larry and Sue Bentz put them together and delivered. ~~~~~~~~~~ The new Membership roster has been updated and will be distributed at the December Business meeting. We have several new members and look forward to many fun events/outings in the coming years. If you would prefer to have the new roster emailed to you please let Leanne (Treasurer/Membership) know. Also, as always, please remember that this info is for NWDOS members and families only. ~~~~~~~~~~ At the November meeting a motion was made and seconded to keep all of our officers the same as they are now. The only position that would have been open is: Assistant Director currently held by Michael Bentz. He says he is willing to continue. We will discuss this further at the December business meeting. And, as always, if you would like to run for ANY position within NWDOS please let us know as soon as possible so we can make ballots available. ~~~~~~~~ Banking: We are now being charged a $15/mo fee by Chase for our checking account. Because there are no bi-weekly paychecks being auto-deposited and there is not a minimum balance of $7500.00 We are going to change banks. Right now we are looking at Columbia Bank and America's Credit Union. (Due to locations and accessability.) Let me know if you have any better suggestions. ~~~~~~~~ 2012 Calendar Please be thinking about an activity you would like to host in 2012. It can be a camping trip, a potluck at your house (or a park), etc. Remember, it is NOT required that you host an event.
